Last couple of years I’ve become more involved in the Dutch Climate Movement. This movement consists of individuals who feel it’s their responsibility to act on climate change. Whether they operate under the flag of an organization (like Greenpeace, Milieudefensie, Urgenda, etc.) or just as concerned individuals, these people are not afraid of stepping out of their comfort zone, thinking and moving in new directions and even becoming civil disobient to achieve their goals.
This growing group of concerned fellow earthlings feels like a new family to me. And the cool thing is that we’re starting to get organized and therefor are achieving more results. It’s not just a bunch of flower power hippies sitting around in drum circles. These people stop coal mining monster machines. These people force corporates to divest from the fossil fuel industry. These people take real action!
